EP - AkerSoli Weddings at Dusk pt.4 -Finale-Cutlery chiming against glasses brought the meal to a close. Various speeches had been made while the meal went on. It seemed everyone had a little something at least that they wanted to say. It took a lot of effort to get everyone to be quiet at once, too much laughter seemed to be contagious, someone with a loud voice usually had to order a silence before people payed any attention to the speaker. The last speaker had to be Ten (who was possibly only a few drinks away from complete and utter intoxication by now).
“I’ll keep this short since it’s getting late and there’s still a lot more planned that even the newlyweds don’t know about.” Aker and Soli simultaneously gave him a sideways look when he said that but he moved on without divulging any more information. “They still haven’t had their first dance for a start! Oi, Faith, start up the music!”
Faith hopped up from her seat to one side of the room and hopped up to the
EP - AkerSoli Weddings at Dusk pt.3“Soli, stop moving or you’ll look like a clown in this makeup. Do you want that?”
“You’re tickling me with that damn brush in your hand! Put it down or at least put it in the other hand!”
“I can’t put it down, it’s got powder on it already, it’ll make a mess!”
“Then get Mer to hold it.”
Mer watched slightly dumbstruck as Reka and Soli seemed to wrestle with the makeup kit. It was turning into a full scale war and she didn’t want a part of it whatsoever. She wondered briefly if Maids of Honour were supposed to break up fights like this. She could see the patience fraying at the edges for both of them, she managed to remain calm only because she didn’t have anything to fray.
Right, Mer. Time to shine. She thought, advancing forward and taking the brushes away.
“Ladies, enough! I know everyone’s in a panic but this is a happy day, we don’t need any arguing.
EP - AkerSoli Weddings at Dusk pt.2Twirling down the corridors happily, Ishtar was investigating all the rooms joining onto the corridors in the manor. She couldn’t resist taking a scout around even though it was preferred everyone stay in the reception lounge. She’d grown restless waiting for things to kick off and was literally twitching with anticipation.
Ishtar was stunned a place could be so grand, every room seemed more lavish than the last. Peeking into the cavernous side rooms she found them empty so she took a gander at the items lying around. She even decided at times to use a few of her powers and imagine up some stately people, creating them a little setting, just for fun. Eventually she reached the end of the hallway with just one room left. It sounded like there was some activity going on in there so she listened carefully. Singing? She was sure she recognized the voice.
Ishtar nudged the door open a little with her fingertips and confirmed her suspicions that it was Aker getting ready. There
EP - AkerSoli Weddings at Dusk pt.1Sitting in an unfamiliar room, not knowing where in the world she was or even the time of day, Soli was being tended to by her maid of honour, her sister and her soon-to-be-sister-in-law. Soli had been bundled into a car that morning, expecting to be going to her wedding venue but had in fact been kept in almost complete darkness the whole time. She could be on mars for all she knew.
“I still don’t understand why I had to be blindfolded this far.” Soli complained as Mer, Rue and Reka brought in the last few clothes hangers from the car.
“Don’t ask us, Soli. It’s one of Aker’s schemes. I think he wants to surprise you.” Reka replied while bringing out her shoes from the box and setting them delicately on the dresser by the mirror. She looked out of the bay window by the other side of the room. It was getting quite dark out by this point. The streetlights were beginning to flicker on so Reka decided to draw the thick velvet curtains
